Filmed on location with Son Safaris and read by Son Safaris staff member Grace Dore
Fledge was invited to speak at an annual conference hosted by Christian Veterinary Mission at Lincoln Memorial University, TN, that brought together veterinary schools from across the United States, including the University of Florida, the University of Georgia, Tuskegee University, Auburn University, and others. During this gathering, he was asked to share two meaningful stories from his life and experiences in South Africa.
In this episode, you’ll hear those stories firsthand. The first comes from his time working as a safari ranger, where he encountered both the beauty and the challenges of life in the wild. The second reflects on his experience volunteering as a Sea Rescue crew member along the South African coast, serving in moments when courage, teamwork, and action truly mattered.
Subsequently Fledge was invited to speak at Auburn University, Tuskegee University and University of Florida.
We hope these real-life experiences encourage and inspire you today. Enjoy the episode.
In this episode, Fledge shares multiple times during the 10-minute halftime segment of several basketball games. These moments are designed especially to encourage the parents of the young players. Turning a brief halftime message into an opportunity to reflect on something much bigger.
Through stories from creation, we explore how incredible God’s design truly is and how many creatures experience remarkable new beginnings. Those moments point us to an even greater truth: the new beginning that is available to each of us in Christ.
Be encouraged today as we look at the beauty of God’s creation, the hope of renewal woven throughout it, and the invitation we all have to experience a fresh start new start in Christ.
*Fledge has been multiple times over the years to share at Upward events. We are thankful to have been recorded on two occasions in a huge gym environment.
In this episode, we explore a simple but powerful question: Who are you when no one is watching?
When the crowd is gone, the lights are off, and there’s no applause to be earned, our true character is revealed. Sometimes, while on safari, the darkness reveals what the daylight hides. In the African night, incredible creatures emerge, remarkable creations, like the chameleon. Creation reminds us that even in the quiet and unseen places, something extraordinary can be revealed when a light shines into the darkness.
This conversation dives into the quiet moments of life—the decisions we make, the integrity we keep, and the person we choose to be when recognition isn’t the reward. It’s in those unseen places that our faith, values, and identity are truly formed.
Be encouraged as we reflect on living with authenticity and integrity in Christ, remembering that even when no one else is watching, God sees us, and those unseen choices shape the person we become.
