Tracking the Lion of Judah

with Marla, Grey and Timothy

Meet Marla the Impala

The heart of the herd

Marla has a coat as smooth as river stones and ears that never stop listening. While her friends are busy racing toward mystery, Marla stays back with a cautious heartbeat to sniff the wind for a hint of rain or trouble.

Marla is the soul of the group. Where others see a dry desert, she uses her discernment to find hidden blessings.

Marla reminds us that patience is a superpower and that gentleness can lead just as well as a roar.

The watchful guardian from the treetops

Grey is a Grey Lourie, known by his famous nickname: the Grey Go-Away-Bird. With a tall crest of feathers that stands up like a crown and a sleek smoky-grey suit, he is the most watchful bird in Africa. He loves to fly to the tippy-top of the tallest acacia trees to see the "big picture" on the horizon.

From his high vantage point, he sees dangers and opportunities long before anyone else using his gift of guidance.

Meet Grey The ‘Go Away’ Bird

Meet Timothy Africa’s Painted Predator

The high energy hero

Timothy is an African Wild Dog, a “Painted Protector” showing his coat of swirling patches of gold, black, and white. He is a whirlwind of energy. Timothy is the ultimate teammate who believes that "we" is much stronger than "me." He is a master problem-solver who is the first to offer a helping paw.

He is the engine of the group. When the journey gets long, his boundless spirit and wagging tail keep Marla and Grey moving forward.
